Great Places to Work - Women

I am so incredibly proud to share the news that Genie Goals has been shortlisted in the Great Places to Work for Women (small businesses) 2023.

Creating a workplace where people can bring their authentic selves, that is fair and supportive is at the heart of Genie. I am so incredibly proud to share the news that Genie Goals has not only been shortlisted in the Great Places to Work for Women (small businesses) 2023 but we have been placed 44th!

I’d love to say that every workplace out there could make this list, but sadly the reality is although lots of improvements have been made, there is still a long way to go for many companies out there. I feel so proud to be a business that promotes fairness whatever your gender whether that be a voice, pay, senior positions or flexible working.

In order to qualify for the list, businesses have to meet certain eligibility criteria including having a minimum of 25% women in the workplace, a minimum of 20% of women in non-executive management roles. A minimum of 1 women on the board of directors /executive level is required for larger companies but not for small companies of which we are categorised.

I am proud to report that Genie Goals massively exceed these minimum requirements in all areas (including a 50% of women in our Account Director roles, 50% of women in our Senior Leadership Team and myself in the role of CEO which although is a growing number, women still only represent 5% of CEOs in the FTSE 250. In fact the team were surprised by the criteria and perceived it as very low benchmarks. This in itself showcases how equality is just part of our culture here at Genie.

A key element of achieving fairness is around the gender pay gap - this is made up of a high ratio of women in each role across the business and a robust pay structure ensuring that individuals get paid the same salary for a role.

Here’s to the amazingly talented women who continue to amaze me every day here at Genie and to everyone collectively who has created this culture now and over the years. I hope by the time my 7 yr old daughter is working, awards like these are not needed - but for now they are incredibly powerful.

We are enormously proud of the role businesses like ours take in making the working world a fairer place.
